Welcome to AKC 2024
We are pleased to announce that the 12th Asia-Korea Conference (AKC) will be held from November 14 to 17, 2024, in Shanghai, China. AKC is an annual academic conference where international experts from leading research institutions in the
Asia-Pacific region, including Korea, China, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, gather in one place. The conference aims to promote scientific and technological cooperation between Asian countries and Korea. While past events have
primarily been held in Singapore and Australia, this year holds special significance as it will be the first time the conference is hosted in China.
The main theme of the conference is “Beyond Borders: Shaping the Innovative Future Together.” International cooperation is required to respond to current global crises such as climate change, energy shortages, and population aging. As such, the importance of international science and technology exchange is also highlighted. However, the current international climate, represented by the era of competition for technological hegemony, acts as a major challenge to these efforts. In this process, China is perceived as a close yet distant country to Korea. By hosting this year’s AKC in China, we aim to discuss the current status and exchange plans for technology between Korea and China, as well as strategies for nurturing the next generation of talents who will lead future exchanges. Additionally, we hope to strengthen the network among scientists and technologists active in the Asian region.
We look forward to your active participation and interest in creating a vibrant space for knowledge exchange and fellowship.
